Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop – May 2022

Welcome to the May 2022 Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop! This month’s theme is another sketch challenge, my favorite type of challenge. Here’s a look at the inspiration sketch and below are links to see all of the inspiration from the team this month.

I was so excited to see the Simply Succulents Stamp Set carry over to the new Annual Catalog. With the exception of one of the sentiments, I hadn’t used this stamp set yet. My card also features the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. My color palette is Basic White, Basic Black, Basic Gray, Bronze, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, and Highland Heather.

The prep: I started by cutting a standard sized Basic White card base. Then I cut a 3 7/8″ x 5 1 1/4″ piece from Basic White card stock, which was then dry embossed with one side of the embossing folder inked with Basic Gray ink. I also cut a 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic Gray. Next I stamped and colored the pot and succulent images with Stampin’ Blends. After I colored the images, I fussy cut them. (There are dies that coordinate with the Simply Succulents Stamp Set, but I chose to fussy cut to get closer to the edge of the images.) Lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment with Versamark and white embossing powder on a Basic Black scrap and cut it to size.

Putting it all together: I attached the Basic Gray piece to the edge of the dry embossed piece. Then, I attached it to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The images and sentiment were also attached to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Elegant Faceted Gems were placed in a scattered pattern to finish the card.
